: POSITION IS PART TIME.: Job Details: * Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of patient medical records and forms for Northridge Medical Center in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and center guidelines. * Establishes and maintains control procedures to optimize the efficient and effective handling of patient medical records and related medical documents. * Conducts routine audits on active medical records. * Reviews and organizes charts of discharged patients; purges records in accordance with center guidelines. * Resolves transcription issues. * Reviews and follows up on physician documentation in medical record. * Coordinates record review and assists requesters with access to and release of information. * Responds to requests for medical information by performing duties in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and state and federal laws. * Processes incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis. * Analyzes, compiles, and distributes stats and data for meetings and reports. * Investigates, reports, and submits HIPPA Violations * Maintains privacy and security checks on all computers for the center. Qualifications: * Have prior experience with medical records. (preferred) * Possess knowledge of medical terminology. * Be a high school graduate or the equivalent. * Embrace the standards, values, and beliefs of the organization. * Possess ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. * Be capable of maintaining effective working relationships with patients, family members, department heads and fellow staff.
